1:1Â THERAPY
People come to therapy for all kinds of reasons. Sometimes itâs an obvious upset like a bereavement or a breakup. Other times itâs to deal with work stress, anxiety or depression or just a general sense of feeling âoffâ.
Coming to therapy for the first time can be daunting - itâs awkward and it takes time to settle into. For me, the relationship between the therapist and client is the most important thing for healing and growth. My hope as your therapist is to create a space where you feel comfortable to start exploring some of the thoughts, feelings and experiences that have shaped you and that may continue to impact you today.
When starting out itâs helpful for me to understand what has brought you here, and why now? Itâs also helpful to share what youâre hoping to get out of it so that weâre both on the same page and are working towards your desired outcome. Therapy should be a space for reflection but also a space of hope and creativity where people can start to tackle old problems in new ways and build the skills needed to sustain better mental health.
I have experience working supporting people with a wide range of issues, including abuse, addiction, anxiety, grief, depression, identity issues, life challenges, relationship issues, sexuality, stress, eating disorders and trauma. Â

"Working with Siobhan has genuinely given me my life back. Sheâs very calm and a great listener, I felt like she got me from early on. Iâve made some really big changes in my life since starting therapy and even though I still get anxiety I can deal with it much better now."
Catherine, 49
"I started therapy for the first time last year. I found it really helpful to have an outside perspective on some things I had been dealing with and to know that what I was feeling was normal. I would recommend Siobhan to anyone thinking about going to therapy."
Sarah, 27
"I started sessions last year when I was in a really low place. The biggest thing I got from it was clarity â my anxiety and low mood makes sense now and thatâs given me so much freedom."
